Never giving a second thought to her own financial constraints and concerns, waitress Liz Woodward picks up the 5:30 a.m. breakfast tab for two firefighters who had been battling a blaze without having eaten in 24 hours. The “130 Diner” waitress in Delran, New Jersey left a thank you note instead of an amount due on the fireman’s guest check. But never could Ms. Woodward have ever imagined the firefighters would react the way they did and cause what happened to her.
